   A thorough assessment of your toenails, skin and circulation of the feet, including a neuropathy check for diabetic patients.

   Professional foot care

   Trimming, filing and cleaning of toenails; thinning of thickened nails as needed; callus or corn treatment — all with sterilised instruments.

   Education & recommendations

   We close every visit with personalised foot care tips, home care guidance and referrals where appropriate.

Subsequent visits are 30 to 45 minutes in duration.

What methods of payment do you accept?

Accepted forms of payment are Cash, Visa, and MasterCard. Visa and MasterCard payments are processed through a Square Reader.

Can nursing foot care be claimed through extended health benefits?

Yes. In most cases, nursing foot care services are covered by extended medical plans when offered by a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). This includes providers such as Sunlife, Blue Cross, Canada Life and others. Clients receive a receipt at the end of each visit that includes the total amount paid, which can be submitted directly to their insurer. Please confirm eligibility with your extended health services provider.

Is nursing foot care recognised by the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA)?

Yes. The Canada Revenue Agency recognises this service as a medical expense. Clients can keep their receipts and claim the expense on their tax return.

Where are services provided?

Services are provided at Foot Solutions in Kitsilano, located at 2620 West Broadway, Vancouver, BC V6K 2G3.

How far in advance can appointments be cancelled?

Appointments can be cancelled up to 24 hours prior to the appointment time. This allows another client in need of foot care to take that spot.

How are your tools cleaned?

The stainless steel tools are cleaned and sterilised by following BC's Best Practice Guidelines for Cleaning, Disinfection & Sterilisation. Single-use tools are disposed of after each client.

What is included in the foot care appointment?

The 45-minute to 1-hour initial appointment includes: a medical history, shoe assessment, mobility assessment, neuropathy assessment (if diabetic), foot care, education, recommendations, foot care tips, and/or further referrals. Assessment to check the level of sensory feedback in feet — lack thereof can lead to further diabetic complications.
